Pig and cookies, just for fun!
I really like this video, not that it's just super funny (which it is!) but also that he doesn't give up on what he wants to do. He clearly wants those cookies, and he is willing to do just about anything to get it. It makes you wonder, what do you want this badly in your life?

LEAF ART
This is an example of one of my hobbies. It's called Leaf Art. It's dried leaves that are framed with hand embroidery embellishments. This leaf is 2 feet x 3 feet and it's a Chinese Rhubarb. Behind it is a meander stitch. It took 14 hours to complete.
I recently completed a life goal of having an art show. I was a vendor at the Bountiful Summerfest where I sold these to the public. I was so excited to see what people would say, if they were interested in buying them, and how the whole process worked. My goal at the time was to sell enough to make back my booth entrance fee, which I did before the second day was over!
The first one I sold was to an elderly couple. He asked me how I came up with the idea and how long I've been a vendor. I told him this was my first experience at being a vendor and I thought the leaves looked really good framed with some embroidery. He said they were very well done and that they showed professionalism. As he was purchasing his leaf art, he said "Let me introduce myself, I'm the head of the Art Association". I was thrilled! :)
Denmark
This is a picture of a church in Denmark where my great-great grandpa was baptised. We made this trip to Denmark last July, 2013. Since then I've taken a class through BYU-I on religion where we were asked to look into a Culture Research project. My research project was to ask the question "Why would my ancestor's leave Denmark and move to Minnesota?". After much research, I decided it was because in Denmark they could not own land. They worked farms that were owed by one person. At the death of the farmer, the land wasn't given to his decendants, but it went back to the land owner to assign at will. Thus, my Danish ancestors moved from Denmark to a new life in America.
This picture is significant to me alone. It's the door to the church that my ancestors would have entered, each time they attended church. It's also symbolic in a way. It's the door to doing my family history work. It's what got me interested in my ancestors and getting their temple work done.
This scan doesn't look like much, but it proves the parents of my great-great grandfather. My Danish line had stopped with him. Now I'm able to extend out our family line. The records on Family Search showed that he had 4 children. During my research I found that he actually had 6 children!! I will be adding these two children into my family tree and getting their names ready for the temple.
My view on life with some life goals
Hi. My name is Holly Juengling.
I'd like to tell you my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I have been a member all my life. I was raised in a part-member household, where I saw first hand what stresses you can add to your life when parents don't agree on religion.
With that daily example it was VERY important to me that I marry a person not only with my same religious background, but also someone with my same values and ideals. I found that person in my husband, Fritz. We got married in the Seattle Temple on Feb 6, 1986. My parents were not able to attend my wedding. There is an interesting story behind this. Before I got married, my older brother got married to his girlfriend in an outdoor wedding ceremony. I was to ride to the wedding with my brother, then ended up instead riding with my parents. While sitting in the backseat, my father caught my eye in the rearview mirror. He said, "This religion of yours must not mean very much to your brother; he isn't getting married in a temple." At this point in my life I was considering getting married in a civil wedding ceremony so that my parents could attend. You see, there are 14 children in my family, and I'm the 7th. Up to this point, before my brother's wedding, my parents had not seen the first 4 of their children married. My Dad's offhand comment changed my future plans. It was then and there, that very moment in fact, that I decided to settle for nothing less than a temple marriage.
I got baptised when I was eight years old. My baptism day was shared with my sister Yvonne and my brother Tyrone. My brother Robin baptised me into the church. I have always had a testimony of the truthfullness of this church. I grew up going to church each Sunday and learning all I could there. At home we were not allowed to pray, to hold family home evenings, or to read scriptures. To get around this, we said our own prayers in our rooms before sleeping. We all would get together on Monday nights and just hang out together and we read our scriptures in our bedrooms by ourselves. My mother was a big influence of a righteous person. She joined the church as a young mother, and though my Dad tried often to get her to stop 'being a Mormon' she held her ground.
I have a testimony of tithing. I've paid my tithing not knowing how we would make it to the next paycheck, and we always have. I have a testimony of prayer, as mine have been answered so many times. I know the Lord will speak to us through the Holy Ghost, as he has done so to me. I believe in miracles, as I've experience 3 so far in my own life. I will always guard my testimony as something that I hold dear. It helps me as I continue on the path of life.
I would also like to share my life goals. I want to graduate from college. I want to be self reliant and to help others become so too. I would like to make a difference in the lives of those around me. I think it's important to lift those you come in contact with by giving them a kind word or smile. I want to help my children become good citizens and that they in turn become the positive difference in someone elses life. I want to be known as someone who would always choose the right. I've also decided I'd like to live to be 82.
Thanks for visiting my blog. :)
My name is Holly Elaine Juengling. I was born into a family that has 14 children
plus my parents. My parents are Russel
Alvin Nelson and Donna Elizabeth Hale.
My place in the family is child number 7. I have 6 sisters and 7 brothers. Since I was born in the middle, I actually
know and grew up with all of my siblings.
Some of them can’t claim that fame.
My oldest sister, for instance, was gone and married before the last two
of my siblings were born. The last two
siblings were also born as an aunt and uncle.
I was born in Portland Oregon while we lived in West
Linn. We later moved to Mulino Oregon
and then to Silverton Oregon, which is where most of my growing up memories are
from. We attended a 3 room grade school
that had all 8 grades in it. I was in
school with some of my sisters.
I attended Silverton Union High School from 1978-1982. When I graduated I went to Utah to attend
Brigham Young University. I attended
there until 1984 when I moved back to Oregon to earn more money. I started working as an accounts payable
clerk and while working and attending young adults, I met my future husband,
Charles Fritz Juengling. We dated and
were married on Feb 6, 1986. We got
married in the Seattle Temple as the Portland Temple hadn’t been built yet.
We had our fist son named Konrad Anders Juengling on Feb 22,
1987 and then his brother Kurt Friedrick Juengling on Feb 1, 1988. Technically we had 2 children before we had
been married for two years, since our wedding anniversary was 5 days after Kurt
was born. We lived at the time in Coos
Bay Oregon where Fritz was teaching high school. Gerrit Keith Juengling joined our family on
June 18, 1990 and that same year we moved to St. Paul Minnesota so Fritz could
attend graduate school. We were joined
by Erika Nicole Juengling on Sept 26, 1992 while still in school. We lived in Minnesota for 8 years while Fritz
got his masters degree and his PHd in philology.
We moved back to Salem Oregon in 1999 and bought our first
house in Oct of 2000. Our address was
4812 Elkhorn Dr SE, Salem Oregon. We
lived within 1 mile of Fritz’s parents which was good since his mother was ill
at the time.
We lived in Salem Oregon for 12 years and then ended up
moving to Bountiful Utah in Nov of 2011 because of a job change by Fritz. Our children are all in college now. This year we have Kurt & Erika graduating
with their 4 year degrees, Gerrit with his 2 year degree and I’m taking college
classes along with Konrad who will be starting his graduate program soon in
Oregon.
All of our boys live in Oregon and Erika lives
in Idaho while finishing her schooling.
We now live in Utah.
